The tour begins with the pick-up by our multilingual environmental guide in a minivan or jeep from Catania, at the planned meeting point, to Mount Etna across lava landscapes, centuries-old forests, and typical villages.
Once you reach an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level, you will be entrusted to the staff of the cable car where, in possession of your tickets, first aboard the cabin and then by a Unimog 4×4 vehicle, you will reach up to an altitude of about 2900 meters.
There, together with the authorized volcanological guide, you’re going to take part to trekking up to the maximum altitude allowed of about 3000 meters, at the base of the summit craters.
The overall duration is 2,5 hours. On the way back, gotten down by the cable car, you will meet again with our guide at the meeting point, at the “Esagonal” bar, for the tasting of local products and, if added, the Light-lunch (optional) at the price of 6€ (p.p.), and then the return to Catania.
* The Cable Car Ticket, included in the overall price, must be purchased in advance by our Link/QR Code (“Priority” skip-the-line ticket), after your reservation.
* The price would change if a snowcat was used instead of the Unimog 4×4 or the altitude reachable varied., affecting the kind of ticket excursion entailed.

Of course not! Our tours are all-inclusive. You don’t have to pay anything else if the tour doesn’t include it.
Recommended clothing varies according to season:

We recommend a winter jacket, long trousers, a woollen hat and sturdy waterproof shoes.
–> April to May
The weather and temperatures are very variable, so we suggest winter clothing in layers, sneakers.
–> June to September
The weather and temperatures are pleasant, we suggest a t-shirt, trousers or shorts, trainers. (in any case, always bring a light jacket or K-way in case of passing storms).

In the event of a storm you will be contacted to cancel or reschedule the tour. In case of cancellation or impossibility to reschedule, we will provide a refund (if pre-paid).
The itineraries are the same. Etna Morning Tour takes place in the morning and includes a typical Sicilian lunch. Etna Sunset Tour takes place in the afternoon and includes a reinforced aperitif at sunset.
We have room for 6 to 8 people in our vehicles. The number of persons may vary according to Covid-19 restrictions.

Yes, it is possible to change the date of the tour, if there are circumstances preventing its carrying out and based on our availability within the validity period of the cable car ticket itself, which is valid for the following five days since the selected date, no later.
This tour, with departure from Catania between 7:45 and 8:00, can only be done in the morning upon arrival at Rifugio Sapienza.
In our vehicles, we have space for 6 to 8 people. At 2500 meters, on board the special 4×4 vehicles, the number is higher.
